Condi Rice’s Legacy

BPA does not spend too much on foreign policy, but this reflective piece on Condoleeza Rice's legacy as President Bush's National Security Adviser and then Secretary of State is worth mentioning.

Analysis
Rice's reputation will likely never recover from the error that is Iraq. It is reasonable to assume that Bush did not do the heavy lifting when it came to developing short and long-term strategies for the region. What only true insiders know is what role Secretary Rice played in the debacle. Was she merely a facilitator of views that consistently got rolled by VP Cheney and Defense Secretary Rumsfeld? Or, was the larger mission of reshaping the Middle East her goal?
